Washing Instructions

Bathroom Boutique Creations Washing Instructions

Use these hospitality linen-care guidelines alongside the sewn-in care label. Confirm machine settings, temperatures, chemicals and dosing with your laundry specialist; the product label takes precedence.

Bed Making Training Program

Follow a consistent stripping, dressing and final-inspection routine to keep guest rooms hygienic and presentable.

Common Bed Making Methods in Hotels

Prepare the correct bedding for the property’s approved bed-making method, and follow the same sequence for each room.

Bed Stripping Procedures & Steps

Remove decorative items first, then strip covers and sheets separately. Keep linen off the floor, check for belongings, stains and damage, and separate soiled items for collection.

Bed Making Procedures & Steps

Fit the mattress protector and bottom sheet neatly, then dress the duvet and pillows with clean covers. Position cushions and the runner, straighten the bed and inspect the finished presentation.

Simplified Step-by-Step Operation Checklist

Lift and pull linen into position, smooth and tuck the sheets, fit the duvet and pillows, then check alignment, cleanliness and the overall finish before leaving the room.

Critical Operational Notes

Work carefully without trapping debris or guest possessions in bedding. Keep corners crisp and report any damaged or stained linen instead of returning it to the bed.

Secondary Contamination of Linen and Prevention

Never put clean or used linen on the floor or drag it along surfaces. Do not use guest towels for bathroom cleaning, and keep bedroom, bathroom and food-service linen separate.

Linen Laundry Care Guidelines

Handle, transport, wash and finish each textile according to its fabric, colour, soil level and individual care instructions.

Housekeeping Service Standards

Collect used linen systematically and prevent clean items from coming into contact with soiled loads.

Classified Linen Stripping

Sort bed linen, towels and food-service items by category. Separate wet from dry linen and keep different colours and fabric types apart.

Inside-Out Stripping of Fitted Linen

Turn fitted linen right side out as it is removed so it can be inspected and washed correctly.

Separate Storage for Heavily Soiled and Rewash Linen

Isolate heavily stained linen and items requiring a second wash. Identify grease, blood, wine and other difficult marks before treating them.

Avoid Direct Contact with Strongly Acidic or Corrosive Chemicals

Keep linen away from strongly acidic or corrosive chemicals during handling, cleaning and storage.

Linen Storage

Store fully dry, clean linen in a well-ventilated area, away from the floor and rough or dirty shelving.

Linen Transportation

Keep linen fully covered or wrapped during transport to protect it from dirt and contact contamination.

Linen Washing Process Specifications

Build a separate, suitable programme for each fabric and soil category rather than treating every linen item alike.

Basis for Washing Process Design

Set loading, wash time, temperature, machine action and chemical dosage with the equipment manufacturer and chemical supplier. Use only the wash and finishing stages appropriate to the fabric.

Washing Water Requirements

Use properly softened, monitored water with controlled hardness and low iron and manganese levels to minimise yellowing and fabric damage.

Different Washing Processes for Different Linen Materials

Separate cotton, blends and synthetics. The guide recommends 40–60°C for cotton and cotton blends, and generally 50°C or below for synthetics; follow the product label if it differs.

Laundry Chemical Standards

Use suitable professional laundry chemicals, preferably correctly dosed liquid detergent. Follow the chemical supplier’s directions and check compatibility with the linen.

Inspection and Sorting of Linen

Check for sharp objects and fabric damage before loading. Sort by colour, fibre, item type and stain severity; wash bath mats separately.

Stain Removal (Heavy stains undergo manual treatment first, then washing)

Identify the stain and pre-treat it with an appropriate professional remover before the main wash. Use different methods for grease, beverages and protein-based stains.

Loading Capacity

Do not overload the washer. The guide suggests using approximately 80–85% of its rated load while allowing enough room for washing action.

Flush

For moderately or heavily soiled linen, begin with a short, high-water-level flush without detergent to remove loose dirt.

Pre-wash

Give heavily soiled loads a brief, high-water-level pre-wash with suitable detergent before the main wash.

Main Wash

Match water level, detergent dose, temperature, wash duration and machine action to the fabric and soil. Do not extend the programme to compensate for an overloaded machine.

Bleaching

Bleaching is optional: use it only when the care label permits and a laundry professional has confirmed the product and dose. Do not bleach coloured linen.

Rinsing

Rinse thoroughly, using repeated high-water-level rinses where necessary, to remove dirt and detergent residues before finishing.

Softening Treatment

Use softener only where the specific BBC textile’s care instructions permit it, at the correct dose in the appropriate rinse. This does not apply to Comphy towels, which have separate no-softener instructions below.

Acid Neutralization

Where the laundry process requires neutralisation, trained staff should measure residual alkalinity and dose the approved neutraliser carefully. Excess acid can damage fibres.

Brightening

Brightening is an occasional finishing treatment for suitable white linen, not a substitute for proper washing. Check fabric suitability and chemical dosage first.

Sizing

Apply sizing only where appropriate, such as selected table linen or uniforms, and follow the specialist’s dosage and finishing programme.

Hydro-extraction

Select spin speed and extraction time for the fabric; excessive high-speed extraction can damage or tear delicate items.

Drying

Use the item’s permitted drying temperature and avoid over-drying. Towels may be tumble-dried where approved; sheets and duvet covers can be prepared for ironing according to the laundry programme.

Ironing

Iron sheets and duvet covers at a fabric-appropriate setting for a smooth finish. Do not pass towels through a roller iron.

Washing Effect Standards

Check that finished linen is clean, free of visible stains and unpleasant odours, properly rinsed and neatly presented. Remove items that need rewashing or repair.

Other Precautions

Inspect machines for burrs and sharp edges, use appropriate washing agents and protect delicate items in laundry bags.

Appendix: Dirt Classification & Fabric Staining

Identifying the type of soil and the fabric helps determine the correct stain-removal method.

Dirt Classification

Dirt may be water-soluble, alkali-soluble, oxidisable, acid-soluble, solvent-soluble or insoluble. Identify the stain before selecting a treatment.

Binding Forms of Dirt and Fabric

Soil can attach mechanically, electrostatically or chemically. More strongly bound stains may require targeted pre-treatment rather than a longer general wash.

Fabrics and Staining

Fabric composition, weave and condition affect how stains adhere and how they should be treated. Check the material and care label before applying chemicals.

These are general Bathroom Boutique Creations linen-care guidelines. Each item’s care label and the approved professional laundry programme take precedence.

Comphy Washing Instructions

Care for the comfort your guests remember. This guide summarises Comphy's 2025 suggested laundering instructions for towels and microfiber twill sheets used in spa and treatment settings. Select the instructions for your specific product and operating environment; follow its sewn-in care label and confirm any programme with your laundry specialist.

Find your guidance: Towels at home · Professional towels · Professional sheets · Treatment oils and warranties.

Comphy towels: home laundering

  • Wash: Use warm or cool water. Rinse in warm or cold water only; do not use a hot rinse.
  • Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Separate unlike colours.
  • Dry: Tumble dry on low, or alternate air and heat drying.

Comphy towels: professional laundering

The 2025 towel card provides the following suggested programme for professional equipment. Its measurements assume a washer capacity of 100 lb (approximately 45 kg); do not transfer chemical quantities or settings to another machine without professional adjustment.

Stage Duration Water and level Additional instruction
Break / suds 10 minutes Hot, 160°; low level Alkali 1,500–2,000 ppm
Rinse 1 2 minutes Hot, 140°; high level —
Rinse 2 2 minutes Warm, 120°; high level —
Rinse 3 2 minutes Cold; high level —
Final rinse 4 minutes Cold; low level Sour to appropriate pH

Drying: Tumble dry low, or alternate air and heat. Comphy advises laundering a full load, avoiding bleach and washing promptly. If washing is delayed, the 2025 card suggests placing oil-soiled goods in plastic bags to limit oxidation of spa oils. It also describes a high-temperature alkaline bath of 160–170° and notes that additional solvents can be helpful; have a qualified laundry professional confirm all chemicals, compatibility and operating conditions before adopting this procedure.

Comphy microfiber twill sheets: commercial laundering

The separate 2025 commercial instruction card is specifically for microfiber twill products and programmable machines. Its instructions differ from the towel programme, including the third rinse, drying and treatment of whites.

Stage Duration Water and level Additional instruction
Break / suds 10 minutes Hot, 160°; low level Alkali 1,500–2,000 ppm
Rinse 1 2 minutes Hot, 140°; high level —
Rinse 2 2 minutes Warm, 120°; high level —
Rinse 3 2 minutes Warm; high level —
Final rinse 4 minutes Cold; low level Sour to appropriate pH
Extract 1–2 minutes Slow speed —

Dry and finish: The sheet card specifies 15 minutes at medium heat (130–140°), a five-minute cool-down, and immediate removal from the dryer. Prompt folding may eliminate pressing. If an ironer is used, its suggested setting is 340° at 110 feet per minute; Comphy notes that adjustment may be necessary for humidity, season and equipment.

Sheet handling: Wash full loads promptly. The sheet card permits non-chlorine bleach for whites if desired; this is not the same as the towel card's no-bleach instruction. For treatment linen, Comphy recommends water-soluble massage oils, lotions and creams. It also suggests a high-temperature (160–170°), high-alkalinity wash with suitable solvents where appropriate; confirm chemical and equipment compatibility with your laundry provider.

Important care, treatment-oil and warranty notes

  • Check the temperature units first. The supplied 2025 instruction cards display 120°, 140°, 160–170° and other figures without explicitly printing °F or °C beside them. Do not programme these as Celsius temperatures or assume a unit; obtain confirmation from Comphy and your laundry specialist before use.
  • Sheet staining and warranty information: The 2025 commercial sheet card states that its microfiber twill sheets carry a one-year guarantee against staining. It specifies that use of grapeseed, wax or jojoba oil voids the Comphy sheet warranty. These are supplier-card statements from 2025, not confirmation that a particular purchase currently qualifies; applicable limited-product-warranty coverage, exclusions and any claim must be confirmed for the specific product.
  • The towel and sheet instructions are product-specific. Do not apply them automatically to Comphy gowns or other items; use their own product labels and instructions.
