Warranty

Effective date: 1 August 2026

Warranty coverage depends on the exact product, supplier terms, approved specification, intended application and compliance with the applicable handling, laundering, storage and care instructions. The accepted quotation and product documentation form part of the warranty terms for each order.

BBC Own Brand warranty

Unless a written quotation states otherwise, BBC Own Brand textile products carry a 12-month limited warranty from delivery against verified manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. This may include material stitching failure, weave irregularity or dimensional change outside the approved specification and reasonable manufacturing tolerance.

Comphy limited warranty

Comphy’s currently published limited warranty covers the first purchaser and only defects in materials or workmanship in products made from Comphy’s signature microfiber twill. Knits, blankets, throws, comforters, duvet covers made with micro-shantung or micro-satin shantung, pillow inserts, decorative pillows, saddles and towels are excluded from that published limited warranty unless a separate product-specific warranty applies.

For a covered Comphy product, the published warranty period is one year from purchase for commercial use and two years for home retail use. Comphy may repair or replace a covered product at its option after assessment. The manufacturer may require proof of purchase, problem documentation and return for inspection.

Comphy’s warranty excludes damage caused by unintended use, improper laundering, handling or storage, and use with grapeseed oil, jojoba oil or wax. Failure to follow Comphy’s recommended laundering instructions may void the warranty.

General exclusions

  • Normal wear and tear or gradual change caused by ordinary use.
  • Incorrect laundering, bleaching, chemistry, dosing, temperature, drying, ironing, finishing or storage.
  • Use of a textile with oils, waxes, chemicals, cosmetics or other substances excluded by the applicable care or supplier instructions.
  • Failure to follow supplied care, safety, handling or application instructions.
  • Incorrect dimensions or specifications approved by the customer.
  • Misuse, neglect, overloading, abrasion, accidental damage, alteration, unauthorised repair or embroidery.
  • Damage occurring after use outside the product’s intended hospitality, residential or operational application.

Mandatory rights and claims

Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits any warranty, remedy or right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or another applicable law.
