Laundry performance should be considered before a hotel approves a linen specification. Two products that look similar in a guest room can behave very differently in washing, drying and finishing.
Weight affects processing
Higher-GSM towels increase load weight and can take longer to dry. Larger bath sheets also affect laundry throughput even when GSM is identical.
Fibre and construction matter
Cotton, blends and specialist microfibres can differ in drying behaviour, wrinkle release and finishing requirements. No single construction is automatically best for every operation.
Dimensions influence capacity
Oversized sheets, duvet covers and towels consume more washer, dryer and storage capacity. Finished dimensions should therefore be part of the operating specification.
Control chemical and thermal exposure
Actual laundry chemistry and temperatures should follow product care requirements and the property's hygiene standards. Excessive processing can shorten textile life.
Measure rejects and rewash
Stain rejects, rewash frequency and damaged-linen rates can reveal whether the specification and laundry process are aligned.
